DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, JAMMU ORGANIZED A WORKSHOP ON “GOOD TOUCH, BAD TOUCH”

DPS Jammu organized a workshop on the topic “Good Touch, Bad Touch” on 14th November, 2017 in its premises for the classes Pre-Nursery to V. The workshop was conducted by the Resource Person from Scholastic India, Ms. Meneka Khanna. The workshop was conducted as a part of the ‘Child Safety Initiative’ taken up by the school. The session began with the discussion about the different body parts with the help of a diagram. The Resource Person made the children aware about the difference between good touch and bad touch with the help of a story “No Touch” and various video clips. The children were given sheets to recognize and colour the private body parts. The information on the feeling of comfort level was given with the help of a video clip ‘My body belongs to me.’ They were told about how to identify between these two touches. Later, the Resource Person created an open environment where children freely discussed their queries.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra expressed her concern for this issue and laid stress on conducting regular counselling sessions for children in the school. Headmistress, Ms. Meenu Gupta also lauded the efforts of the Resource Person.
Hon’ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble PVC, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji congratulated the Principal and staff for organizing this useful workshop.
