DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, JAMMU CELEBRATES CHRISTMAS

Christmas was celebrated in DPS Jammu on 22nd December, 2017 with great zeal and enthusiasm. A special assembly was also organized on the occasion. A lively cultural programme was put up by the students. The programme began with welcome speech by the students and a reminder of appeal for the donations for 'Be Santa' initiative taken up by the school in collaboration with 92.7 Big FM, Jammu. The reminder was announced by student RJ Tarini Magotra in her very appealing motivational style, stressing on the principles of charity and goodwill.
The programme proceeded with carols sung by two hundred students making the whole atmosphere serene. The students then enthralled the audience by enacting the scene of Nativity depicting the "The birth of Jesus" which had a fusion of carols, hymns and dances. Children of Pre-Primary and Primary wing performed mesmerizing dances adding to the festive mood and atmosphere. The gala moment of the assembly was the release of two school magazines 'Tarini' & 'Kriti', the handywork of the middle and senior students, led by the student editorial board 2017-18. The magazines were released by Sh. S.S Sodhi, Hon'ble Director, DPS Jammu who also felicitated the winners of various Inter-DPS, National and state level competitions. He appreciated the students and teachers for their hardwork in bringing laurels to the school. He briefed the gathering about the new RFID card technology soon to be implemented in the school and also extended his best wishes to students, staff and their families on the occasion of Christmas and soon to come new year. Also present on the occasion were Principal, Headmistress and other staff of the school.
The vote of thanks was presented by Ms. Sonu Nayyar, Vice House Warden, Yamuna House. The special assembly ended with the National Anthem.
Hon'ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji and Hon'ble PVC, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji extended their wishes on the occasion of Christmas to students and staff.
