DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, JAMMU ORGANIZES WORKSHOP ON ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING

DPS Jammu organized a workshop on ‘Skill Development in English Language Teaching’ on 23rd December, 2017 in the multipurpose hall. Around sixty teachers of English language in DPS Jammu attended the workshop which was aimed at equipping them with the necessary skills in English Language Teaching.
The Resource Person for the workshop was Mrs. Renu Anand, a very renowned author and ELT (English Language Training) expert for CBSE, NCERT, SCERT, DIET and Tata McGraw-Hill. She has published work for International publishers including Tata McGraw Hill, Cambridge University Press and Oxford University Press.
Teacher’s interaction with the Resource Person helped in understanding the four basic skills of Teaching English Language-Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking and how words that have same sounds vary in their pronunciation depending on the Graphophonics. She further trained the teachers in classroom strategies and English language Activities.
Earlier, Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra inaugurated the workshop and asked the teachers to utilize the opportunity and make the program interactive. Later, she also felicitated the Resource Person with a memento. Headmistress, Ms. Meenu Gupta called upon the teachers to carry forward the ideas and practices learnt during the course of the workshop. Deputy Headmaster, Mr. Ravi Kotroo delivered the vote of thanks at the end. The workshop was compered by Ms. Aditi Sharma and Ms. Neha Malhotra.
Hon’ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble PVC, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji, also conveyed their best wishes to the staff for organizing this workshop.
