DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, JAMMU FELICITATES VAIBHAV SURI AND VEDANT SURI FOR THEIR MOVIE SHOWCASED IN FRANCE

Considering the fact that Bullying not only threatens students’ mental, physical and emotional well-being but also impacts the school system, Vaibhav Suri of class III and Vedant Suri of class IX were inspired to spread a strong social message on Bullying, by acting in Children’s animated short film-“Belle Moi-Beautiful Me”, produced and directed by Nupur Sandhu. Their film was released on 27th May, 2018 in France during the 16th Edition of Plein La Bobine Film Festival at La Bourboule. It is noteworthy that Vaibhav Suri has played a lead role in this film, which attempts to explore some common emotions underlying bullying such as Anger and Low Self-Esteem. It also suggests some useful ways to check these emotions and to inculcate beautiful selfhood among children. Vedant Suri, on the other hand, has a brief but important appearance in this film, which was also the first film amongst the six to have been screened at the opening of 10+ kids competition films, and was in fact, screened twice on popular public demand. The said film has also been shortlisted for screening at the 7th Edition of prestigious Bangalore Short Film Festival later during the month.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra congratulated both the young actors and felicitated them with a Certificate of Appreciation during a special assembly in the school. She expressed hope that more successful prodigies from DPS Jammu would bring laurels for their nation, school and parents in future.
Headmistress, Ms. Meenu Gupta also applauded both the children.
Hon’ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble PVC, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji congratulated Vaibhav and Vedant and their proud parents Mr. Vivek Suri and Mrs. Pooja Suri on the occasion and conveyed their best wishes for their future endeavours.
