DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, JAMMU CELEBRATES HINDI DIWAS

DPS Jammu celebrated Hindi Diwas with great enthusiasm and fervour. A Special Assembly and Hindi Essay Writing Competition were organized on the occasion. Students mesmerized everyone with the presentation titled ‘Humari Dharohar’ which included display of characters, works and biographical accounts of legendary Indian authors and poets such as Rabindranath Tagore, Suryakant Tripathi Nirala, Sarojini Naidu, Munshi Prem Chand, Sant Kabir, Hazari Prasad Dwivedi, Subhadra Kumari Chauhan & Mahadevi Verma. Students who presented their characters had also come dressed like them. This was followed by Solo poetry recitation by students highlighting ‘Veer Ras’ and ‘Hasya Ras’ poems with proper voice modulation and intonation which won a huge applause from the audience. Students also presented duet recitation of famous ‘Dohas’ of Sant Kabir, Sant Raheem alongwith ‘Meera ke Pag’, also enlightening the audience with their enriching explanations. The rich Indian tradition was also displayed through a fascinating Kathak Dance performance by Harshita of class VIII, leaving the audience spell bound.
The topic of the Essay Writing Competition was ‘Swachh Bharat me Humara Yogdaan’ for juniors and ‘Internet ka Jivan Me Upyog’ for seniors, which saw an active participation of all students.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra urged everyone to inculcate values of deep respect, appreciation and pride for our mother tongue Hindi. She also administered oath to the children to extend lifelong care and support to their grandparents. The winners of different Inter-DPS, State and National Competitions were also felicitated by her.
Headmistress, Ms. Meenu Gupta in her address said that Hindi language should be honoured and preserved.
The whole programme was anchored by Gulsmile Kour and Ananya Anand of class IX-G while the vote of thanks was presented by Ms. Sonu Nayyar, Vice House Warden, Yamuna House.
The programme came to an end with the National Anthem.
Hon’ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble PVC, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji & Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji conveyed their best wishes to all on the occasion of Hindi Diwas.
