SAMRIDHI SINGH OF DPS JAMMU EXCELS IN ALL INDIA 6TH KOREA-INDIA FRIENDSHIP ESSAY COMPETITION

Samridhi Singh (VII-H), a student of Delhi Public School, Jammu brought laurels to the school and her parents by winning 3rd prize and cash award of Rs. 5000/- in sub-junior group in All India 6th Korea-India Friendship Essay Competition organized by Korean Cultural Centre, Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the month of July, 2018. She was felicitated by Mr. Shin Bongkil, Ambassador of Republic of Korea in a glittering ceremony held at Korean Cultural Centre, New Delhi on 11th Oct. 2018. A Special Appreciation Trophy was also awarded to the school alongwith Special Appreciation Certificates for the Principal and Activity Coordinators.
Thousands of students from all over India participated in the said competition out of which 139 students from DPS Jammu participated in the competition. The competition was organized with the aim to raise the students’ awareness and interest in the geographical, political and general knowledge of the world, and also to increase the understanding of students over international & national matters. It was conducted in two categories: Junior group (Class VII to IX) and senior group (Class X to XII). The topic for senior group was “Why I want to become an Indian Ambassador to South Korea?” and for junior group “Why South Korea is my favourite country?” The students participated whole heartedly and enthusiastically and presented highly crafted out ideas.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra applauded the literary effort of the students and said that such competitions add to the students’ academic profile and enhance their exposure in National & International arena. Headmistress, Ms. Meenu Gupta also appreciated the educative International Exposure and enhancement in the learning abilities of the students through such competitions.
Hon’ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble PVC, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji extended their best wishes to the participants and their parents.
