DPS JAMMU OBSERVES INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITES

To make students aware of the rights and well-being of disabled persons in all spheres of society, Delhi Public School, Jammu celebrated World Disability Day on 3rd December, 2018 in the school premises. The students showcased their keen interest and enthusiasm in all activities that were organized on the occasion.
The students of Pre-Primary wing were involved in role play to help them understand how empathy is more important than sympathy for physically challenged persons. The students of Primary wing composed innovative slogans and quotes on the theme “Empowering Persons with Disabilities”. Teachers of the Middle wing initiated a quality talk with students to stimulate consciousness regarding persons with disabilities and how society can strive for inclusivity through the removal of physical, technological and attitudinal barriers for people with physical & mental challenges.
On the other hand, Essay Writing on the topic “We Shouldn’t be limited by the challenges, rather we should challenge our limitations” was organized for the Senior wing students.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra lauded the efforts of the students and staff for observing the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. She also attended an event on the occasion of “World Disability Day” at Teachers Bhawan, Jammu. Hon’ble Governor, Sh. Satya Pal Malik Ji was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Hon’ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble PVC, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji lauded the efforts made by the students & staff to promote awareness about disability.
