DPS JAMMU OBSERVES WORLD WETLANDS DAY

Delhi Public School Jammu observed ‘World Wetlands Day’ 2020 on the theme ‘Wetlands and Biodiversity’. The main aim was to raise the awareness of wetland values and benefits and to promote the conservation and wise use of wetlands among students. Several awareness talks, discussions and activities were organized on the occasion to highlight the importance and need of conserving our wetland resources for a healthy ecosystem. Children of Pre-Primary and Primary wings prepared beautiful drawings and posters and were engaged in Environmental Science Scrap Book activities, while students of the middle and senior wings were engaged through talks and discussions on the topic in order to generate sustained awareness about Indian Wetlands, the reasons of their shrinkage and the steps that can be taken to conserve their richness for several benefits for our ecosystem.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra appreciated the efforts made by students and teachers and said that this awareness would go a long way in promoting the survival of mankind and migratory birds.
Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji urged the staff to organize study tours to wetland areas, such as Gharana on the outskirts of Jammu.
Hon’ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji and Hon’ble PVC, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji extended their best wishes to the students and staff on the occasion.
