Delhi Public School, Jammu Report on Independence Day Virtual Assembly Session -2021-22

Independence Day holds a tremendous place in the heart of Indians as it reminds us about the dawn of a new beginning after a long tryst with destiny. Delhi Public school, Jammu has always celebrated National Festivals in all their grandeur. This year was also no different. Even the ongoing scenario could not dampen our patriotic spirit, we celebrated this great day taking e route and a grand virtual assembly was held with great fervour.
Children from various classes participated with great enthusiasm and exuberance. The assembly began with the address of Respected Principal Ms Ruchi Chabra who while greeting the students, teachers and parents expressed her heartfelt thanks to the health workers and also paid homage to those who lost their lives due to pandemic. She inspired and motivated everyone to come together and rise strong from these difficult times. She laid stress on inculcating values like kindness, humanness and empathy in the young generation.
India is a land of different classical dance forms. The students showcased these classical moves and postures in a scintillating performance on Bharat Anokha Raga. God resides in music. Next the students presented a heavenly instrumental item. They came together and created magic with sitar, guitar, synthesizer and tabla when they played patriotic masterpiece like Saare Jahaan Se Accha. Various students spoke about their love and dreams for the motherland that swelled everyone's heart with national pride. Students of Primary Block reacquainted us with India’s beauty in its vast diversity when they took us on a Journey of Bharat Darshan. We got glimpses of different states, cultures, food and languages and also felt that the thread of unity tied us together. The assembly was taken to another level when Shivani of class X-A sang a beautiful raga. Her voice and the beauty of the raga mesmerized everyone.
Art is another great form to express our emotions. Students made the best use of it when they made creative things to show their gratitude for the nation. The beauty of this event was the mass participation of students. Over 3500 students made artistic creation like tricolour caps, kites, fans and spoke eloquently about their sentiments for the nation. The final crescendo was built when the students of primary block danced their hearts away on patriotic song. Different moves but driven by one emotion that we are proud to be born in this great land called India. The assembly reflected the sentiments of all patriotic Indians.
Addressing the students, Headmistress Ms Meenu Gupta laid tribute to the great freedom fighters and said that the health workers are no less than our national heroes as they worked tirelessly to keep us safe. Greetings for Independence Day were also expressed by Shri MK Ajatshatru Singh, Chairman trustee, President RCT and Kunwarani Ritu Singh ji, Pro Vice Chairperson who while praising the efforts of students urged them to become strong pillars of the national. Shri S S Sodhi, PVC/ Director also wished everyone on this great occasion saying that education will help the nation to rise and excel.
