SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON KRISHNA JANMASHTMI

Culture Education is an essential aspect of the curriculum. Understanding the importance and to glorify Indian traditions, Delhi Public School, Jammu celebrates Janmashtami every year. This year too the students of Delhi Public School, Jammu celebrated Janmashtami, an annual commemoration of the birth of the Hindu deity Krishna, in eighth avatar of Vishnu with full fervor. A special virtual class assembly was conducted on 28th August.The theme for the same was ‘Preserving Indian Culture and Heritage’.The program started with class teacher's welcome address conveying to the students the importance of the day. Such festivals are celebrated to promote brotherhood among children and lay the right foundation. The welcome address was followed by morning prayer, pledge, a refreshing thought and host of fun filled activities and performances. Children shared their perception on the topic and participated with great enthusiasm and zeal in the activities like reciting poetry, slogan writing and poster making. The dance performances on the songs devoted to Lord Krishna and solo songs sung in melodious voices by the students left everyone’s heart beating with joy and ecstasy. The students dressed up as Radha and Krishna gave a traditional touch to the entire celebration. In the end instrumental National Anthem was played.
