“GREAT TEACHERS HAVE THE ABILITY TO CHANGE LIVES FOR THE BETTER"

Knowledge and Education are the basis for all things that can be accomplished in life. Teachers provide
the power of education to today’s youth, thereby giving them the possibility for a better future.
Teachers handle wet clay in the forms of students and shape the future citizens who are morally correct,
responsible and good human beings.
All over India, Teacher’s Day is celebrated on 5th September every year for showing due respect to all the
teachers in the country. This marks the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, former President
of the country and a visionary educator. Amidst the Pandemic, Delhi Public School, Jammu celebrated this
day with great enthusiasm through the Webex app on 4 Sep, 21. The theme of the event was “Value Based
Education for Holistic Development.” There were some note worthy performances by the students in the
form of dance, poetry and songs especially created in honour of the teachers, which had a mesmerizing
appeal.
The chidren showed gratitude to the teachers, they described how the teachers helped them to excel in
academics. They also made giftcards with the help of online resources and personal greeting cards to honour
their teacher mentioning their hard work, especially during online classes. They made the teacher proud
and their messages touched teacher’s heart. It was a novice experience that taught us how a program can be
successfully compiled and completed in the situation of constant instability due to the prevailing pandemic.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra conveyed her gratitude and best
wishes to the teacher’s fraternity for their commendable spirit in creating a realm of solutions of every
problem. Ms. Meenu Gupta, Headmistress, DPS Jammu appreciated the efforts put in by the teachers and
at the same time exhorted the teachers to gear-up to face the changing demands of the audio-visual learners.
Hon’ble President RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh ji, Hon’ble PVC Kunwrani Ritu Singh ji and Hon’ble
Director Sh.S.S Sodhi ji conveyed their heartfelt gratitude for each member of the DPS Family who has
made a difference as a facilitator and a role model, adding to the fruitful virtual learning experiences of our
young learners both in academics and co-curricular activities. The entire programme was applauded by
everyone present and will always remain a beautiful memory in the hearts of one and all present.
