Colour recognition is considered a marker and milestone in a child’s cognitive process and often part of early screening for the Pre scholars, thus playing an important role in object recognition. It helps to develop their descriptive language skills which further enhance their communication and understanding of their surroundings. To familiarize the little ones with the Green colour, "Green Day" activity was organized for the tiny toddlers of Pre-Nursery .The teachers and the children were dressed in green attire. The children were introduced to this colour with the help of environmental clues like green fruits, vegetables, leaves, trees & many more things having green colour .Then, it was followed by colouring in frog, peas and tree. Through this activity they also learned how trees are our friends and they can contribute by planting saplings in their neighborhood. It was a creative and enjoyable way of learning about the green colour. ‘Green Day’ activity was a great learning experience for the tiny toddlers as besides adding a colour recognition to their knowledge, their vocabulary and fine motor skills were also enhanced.
